I have become more self-aware.

I realize I am Type A personality and thrive on efficiency.  There were times during deployments that I wanted to jump up and down, scream, pull my hair.  I didn't.  It was better to practice deep breathing and self-control.  I utilized the path of deployment briefings.  If I had an issue with a fellow volunteer, I thought of techniques to make it a win-win situation for both of us.  There were a number of personal challenges.  I usually like challenges.  After being retired and away from groups for more than a year, it took work and determination to "play nice" with others.  Instead of making enemies I made friends.  And through this process of self-growth, I had the privilege of helping to get vaccines in arms.

Thank you for the opportunity to help, learn, and be part of a wonderful organization.
